The Planetary & Stellar system Imaging Laboratory (PSILab) started in 2013 under the name "VORTEX team".
Between 2013-2018, the team was part of the AEOS research group directed by Prof Jean Surdej, before becoming an independent research group upon Prof Surdej's retirement in 2018. PSILab is dedicated to the development and scientific exploitation of astronomical instrumentation for the high-contrast, high-angular resolution imaging of planetary and stellar systems. We particularly focus on stellar coronagraphy and nulling interferometry, and use these techniques to image low-mass stellar companions, exoplanets, and circumstellar disks.
